Have your tissues at the ready because this toddler tears up looking at pictures of his parents. Seriously, go and get your tissues! His mom and dad put together a neat little slideshow that they shared with him. Along with the pictures was emotionally charged music about love and support. The particular song playing was the song they used in their wedding.
The song is “Heaven” by Bryan Adams. What a fitting song to describe the importance of companionship.
Some of us are blessed with discovering a perfect companion in another, and sometimes that blessing turns into a family. Some of the lyrics we hear in the about one-minute video include – “Baby you’re all that I want When you’re lyin’ here in my arms I’m findin’ it hard to believe We’re in heaven” While we don’t see the slideshow for ourselves, we do bear witness to the 2-year-old boy watching and reacting. With his eyes cast down and a trembling lips, his emotions become all the more apparent as the video goes on.
He doesn’t cry, but his eyes do appear to be watery. The young boy watches the slideshow while tucked under the arm of his father. Seeing this family’s love on display is quite encouraging and hopeful. In a day and age where divorce has lost its stigma and become the norm, no one is shocked to hear about couples living together unmarried, or breaking up, or divorcing. Seeing stories like this of people coming together should give us hope and reason to pray – pray for a love that lasts between them. May the undying love that God gives us be what is reflected in this marriage, and in their relationship with their son. Maybe they come to understand the depth of love, forgiveness, and reconciliation we should exhibit toward one another. “We love him, because he first loved us.
