17-year-old girl raised 5 brothers and sisters by herself

In 2013, grief happened in the Rodriguez family – mother died of cancer. Only her eldest daughter Samantha remembered her well, the other five brothers and sisters were still young.

The girl and her dad tried their best to do everything so that the younger children felt comfortable and did not need anything. But the irreparable happened – suddenly father became seriously ill, he was diagnosed with lymphoma. To take care of him, the girl dropped out of school.

Now the whole family was going through a terrible period. And when the father was gone, five minor children had to be taken to a shelter.

But Samantha just couldn’t let that happen, because they were the only family people she had left.

Enlisting the support of her grandmother, who, although she was already old, could help with advice, Samantha began to educate and take care of the younger ones.

The family received benefits after the death of their parents, and the girl got a job as a waitress. The financial situation was very difficult, but over time everything got better.

Samantha was finally able to graduate from high school and go to college. And her grown-up sisters helped her around the house.

She continues to try and really wants to be a worthy example for her sisters and brother, and they, in turn, call her “mom-dad” and love her very much.
