Couple Adopted Four Wonderful Siblings And Their Little Sister All At Once

It is almost a miracle for orphaned siblings to be adopted into the same family.

Tyler Nichols’ grandfather, who is an orphan, remembers when he and his 6 siblings were all separated because they went to different foster homes. It’s a traumatic experience for any child to have to go through — first, losing his parents, and then losing his siblings too.

He spent the rest of his childhood and well into adulthood wondering about his siblings and what it would’ve been like to grow up with them. He was lucky enough to finally meet his siblings decades later, but it still remains a regret that they couldn’t share their childhood

Knowing this all too well, grandson Tyler and his wife Beth decided they wanted to adopt a sibling group. “If we could keep a family together, that’s what we would really like to do.”

They planned to adopt a sibling group of 2 to 4 kids. Waiting for the adoption attorney, they got a phone call said, “We have a sibling group of four available!” They rejoiced. Then the voice on the other end of the line added, “…and their baby sister!” So, a total of 5!

Even though five children were more than they expected, they decided to take them all in as a family. Tyler and Beth fled to South America to take the siblings home.

As they were waiting for the adoption process to be done, they stayed in Bogota for seven weeks. They were tired but they endured to become the parents of five lovely kids — Yohan (9), Patty (8), Wilson (7), Oscar (6) and Heidy (4)

While Tyler and Beth had to learn to be parents, kids had to learn again about the parent figure: how parents are supposed to be and how to trust their parents.

The most shocking thing about this sibling was that Patty, a six-year-old girl, was a mother figure in this sibling. Whenever her little sister woke up and cried, she was the one to hold her and whispered her, “it’s gonna be okay.”

As the parents and five siblings become one family, all of them had to do their best to unite into a family.

Tyler and Beth talked a lot about the parenting every night.
