While it’s undoubtedly fun to have kids, raising them isn’t as easy as one might think. It takes strong parents to raise a kid and give them a life worth living. While raising more than one kid can be challenging, some parents can handle as many as five or six kids. Besides, the more the merrier, right? But can you imagine building a family with a dozen kids? As crazy as it may sound, a couple welcomed 12 kids in 12 years – and it’s something they never planned but consider perfect.
In March 2022, a couple from New Mexico named Courtney and Chris Rogers welcomed their 12th child. It was never part of the plan to have a big family. But they don’t have any regrets at all. In fact, they couldn’t be more grateful to have such a big brood of children. But the couple’s journey to parenthood wasn’t easy. They suffered a miscarriage during their first try.
In March 2010, they were blessed with a child after Courtney gave birth to their firstborn, a son named Clint. But it was only the start of more blessings to come for the couple as they eventually welcomed 11 other children. They were first gifted with five other boys, followed by six girls.
The names of the couple’s children couldn’t get any cuter as well, as they all start with the letter C: eldest Clint, followed by Clay, Cade, Callie, Cash, twins Colt and Case, Calena, Caydie, Coralee, Caris, and their youngest, Cambria.
“It is amazing how it worked out too because we had all our boys at the beginning and the last five have been girls, so it all evened out,” Courtney said in an interview.

After she became a first-time mom in 2010, the longest time Courtney has gone without being pregnant is seven months.
Courtney, who gave birth to her firstborn at 26, admitted that she didn’t expect to still have 12 kids.
“Clint was born three weeks before I turned 26 but, back then, I had no clue that I would have more children,” Courtney remarked. “I thought I was too old at 26 and I didn’t know they would come so fast, plus include a set of twins,” she added.
While they were told Courtney could only give birth to 10 kids, she realized she was still young and healthy, so they chose to have two more children.
“Then we said we would have 10 children maximum, but I still felt young and healthy enough, so we pushed it to 12,” she said.
As if having 12 children isn’t enough, Courtney said she wants to have more children because she enjoys having babies.
“It is going to be strange not to have another baby,” she said. “Pregnancy mostly treated me well, I didn’t get sick and was never on bedrest, so I could always look after the kids,” she added.
Of course, their household isn’t the typical one as they usually consume 24 eggs for each mealtime and a box of cereal for breakfast each day. Then, they proceed to their art and math lessons.
For lunch, Courtney herself feeds the young ones while the older ones make food like sandwiches for themselves on top of keeping things tidy at home.
In the afternoon, they have language classes, arts and reading time, as well as piano lessons occasionally. For dinner, Courtney usually prepares pancakes and spaghetti served by batch. A supermom indeed!
