A wonderful surprise awaited Audrey Tiberius at the age of 46: She discovered that she was pregnant with triplets, despite the fact that doctors had ruled out the possibility of pregnancy at her age.
Tiberius already had five boys and wanted to grow her family even more. Unable to do so naturally, she tried various ꜰᴇʀᴛɪʟɪᴛʏ ᴛʀᴇᴀᴛᴍᴇɴᴛs, but none worked. At the age of 46, however, the miracle happened!
“A few years ago, the gynecologist told me that I would not be able to have any more children. My ᴇɢɢs were not in good condition. I prayed and prayed for five years to have more children because I always wanted a big family and 7 was my lucky number. Naturally, I was overjoyed when I discovered I was pregnant at the age of 45. It was meant to be!” she said excitedly.
The triplet mom said a statistician told her the odds of getting pregnant at 45 were 1 in 100. The odds of identical triplets are 1 in 10,000 and the odds of ᴄᴏɴᴄᴇɪᴠɪɴɢ identical triplets at her age… 1 in 20 billion!
Thiel added that there is a very high ʀɪsᴋ of ᴍɪsᴄᴀʀʀɪᴀɢᴇ in the first trimester because the uterine lining isn’t as healthy. Tiberius, who is pumping breast milk for a total of seven hours a day, is currently looking for milk donors so she can have more time with her seven children. “I always had seven in my mind. That was always my dream number but I didn’t think it would happen for me because of my age,” she revealed.
Though Tiberius was initially concerned about experiencing a ᴍɪsᴄᴀʀʀɪᴀɢᴇ – at 45 when the ʀɪsᴋ is roughly 80% according to the Mayo Clinic, she learned to trust her body. She also leaned into her faith. “I prayed that my babies would be safe and that I would deliver them when I was supposed to, and that’s what happened,” she said.
She and her husband, Tyler Tiberius, 41, welcomed identical triplet boys on March 30. Sky, River and Bay joined big brothers Marcus, 13, James, 11, Christian, 9, and Max, 7. “What happened to me is so rare… A real miracle! Or rather three miracles,” she said.
