Nurse With Heart of Gold Adopts NICU 3-Month-Old Baby That Never Had Any Visitors

If you’ve ever been in the hospital for an extended period of time, you’ll know how important it is to have your friends and family visit. At just three months old, a baby was born prematurely to heroin-addicted parents. Thankfully, this nurse took action.

Giselle was a patient at Franciscan Children’s Hospital in Brighton, Massachusetts. After she was born, she became a ward of the state. Due to her not knowing anyone in the outside world, she never had a single visitor during her stay.

Nurse Liz Smith had always wanted a baby of her own. She had tried to get pregnant and even considered Vitro fertilization, but her insurance didn’t cover the costs. Her world completely changed when she met little Giselle.

Smith started visiting the baby every day and night in the hospital. She felt it was meant to be and was luckily able to put in the paperwork to adopt her. Now, Giselle is a happy 2-year-old that has a comfortable life in a loving home with someone who is over the moon to be her mom.
