Mum Regularly Gets Stopped By People When She Goes Out To Ask About Two Sets Of Twins
If pregnancy is a physical and emotional marathon, childbirth is an intense rollercoaster of sensations for the mind and body, complete with thrilling highs and often some lows like discomfort.
Nadine Robertson now has five children under five, all naturally conceived, and says that she regularly gets stopped by people when she goes out to ask about them. A young mum says it is “ᴄʀᴀᴢʏ but I love it” after having two sets of twins resulting in a hectic house with five children under five. Nadine Robertson, 24, gave birth to the four kids in three years and says she gets stopped all the time when she goes out as it’s quite ᴜɴᴜsᴜᴀʟ. Olivia and Ivy were born in 2018 on the same day as their elder sister, and newborns Cody and Hazel arrived just 10 weeks ago. Nadine, from Doncaster, said that both sets of twins were conceived naturally.” I just wing it every day to be honest,. I wake up and I hope the rest of them are going to be in a good mood and are going to help me out. It’s ᴄʀᴀᴢʏ but I love it.” she said
Nadine and her husband, Phil Banks, 31, both have no other twins in their families. The children are spread across their four-bedroom home, with each set of twins sharing a room and Isla enjoying one to herself. Nadine said when she goes out with both sets of twins, she often gets comments from strangers who stop her in the street.
She said: “Every time I go out I get people stopping me on the street. As soon as they realise that there’s two babies in the pram and I have the other two little ones with me, they always comment on it.”
While she gets a lot of comments, Nadine doesn’t think it is so strange to have ᴅᴏᴜʙʟᴇ ᴛᴡɪɴs ᴀs sʜᴇ ʜᴀs ᴄᴏᴍᴇ ᴀᴄʀᴏss ᴀ ʟᴏᴛ ᴏɴ sᴏᴄɪᴀʟ ᴍᴇᴅɪᴀ.
Nadine continued: “It doesn’t feel that ᴜɴᴜsᴜᴀʟ to me because I’m on a lot of twin mum facebook groups so I see loads of people with two sets of twins. But I suppose for other people it’s not that typical.”
The comments range from ǫᴜᴇsᴛɪᴏɴs ᴏɴ ᴛʜᴇɪʀ ʙᴇʜᴀᴠɪᴏᴜʀ ᴛᴏ ᴡʜᴇᴛʜᴇʀ ᴛʜᴇ ᴋɪᴅs ᴀʀᴇ ᴛʜᴇ ʀᴇsᴜʟᴛ ᴏF IVF.
Nadine said: “I get it all the time, mainly from older people, asking if I had IVF, which I didn’t. The first person who asked me, when I ʜᴀᴅ ᴍʏ Fɪʀsᴛ sᴇᴛ, I ᴡᴀs ʀᴇᴀʟʟʏ ᴛᴀᴋᴇɴ ᴀʙᴀᴄᴋ. It’s so weird because if you had one baby no one would ever dream of asking ‘were they natural or did you have IVF? But I just get it a lot, especially now with two sets, I know people are just ᴄᴜʀɪᴏᴜs.”
